Man is by nature curious. He wants to know the unknown. He is constantly running from place to place in search of knowledge and opportunities for better life. And traveling signifies this movement of the people from place to place.
Great is the delight of traveling and immense are its benefits. As we travel in foreign countries, we see new scenery, new works of art and objects of historical interest. Traveling tends to promote good feeling among nations and helps them to learn from one another. The knowledge gathered from books is rather theoretical. So in order to make it really useful we must supplement. It by a varied experience of practical side of life and nature. This is possible only by traveling.
Travel gives us a better knowledge of the world. What we learn from Geography becomes far more impressive, when we see the objects in it with our own eyes. Geography gives us words, travel gives us objects, ideas and inspirations. It is well said that an ounce of experience is better than a ton of theory.
In order to derive benefit from traveling, a traveler must learn to value truth. He is a teacher and he can educate others out of the fulness of his knowledge and experience that he gained. Travelers with a scientific outlook may become explorers.
